One owner from...

I did actually know that. Its just that I have a bee in my bonnet over famous British names/marques not now being British owned/licenced. Like Jaguar and Land Rover being owned by Tata of India. They, like Rolls Royce cars, are still currently manufactured in the UK. But for how long.
I guess my,I suppose you could call it an obsession, is manifested by my own experience. I worked for 37 years for a world renown British name- Coles Cranes-who succumbed to the Germans (Krupp Cranes) in 1999
Britain now imports its total requirement for mobile and truck mounted cranes.
I apologize for deviation from topic

No problem, a reasonable reply, hope you both enjoyed the USA - Never gonna lose out to any f'ker - in the long run - are they? ;)

We lost nearby Stothert & Pitt long established crane builders and employers in West Country... Many local guys 'served their time' with S&P - turned out some decent engineers.

Had a most memorable time. Two weeks fly drive to New England.
Spent a few days in Boston, which the wife did not want to leave (shops)
Most scenic place Lincoln NH National Park. Most relaxing place Hyannis ma.
Attractive towns included Plymouth ma, and Hanover nh, the then home of one of my favourite Yank anglophile authors Bill Bryson.
Regrets,- did not make time to visit New york.
