I recently performed a power flush on a gravity fed system with a gloworm boiler. The boiler wouldn't start and BG were called in. The guy from BG fitted a new pump and said that the system should be close-coupled and power flushed at a cost of over£500 so I hired a machine and followed all the instructions and did it myself. In the process of this I discovered that the 15mm supply from the F&E tank was blocked and I cleared it. I added 2 litres of Sentinelx100 to the system which has 8 radiators. The heating worked a treat for the first time in ages. The only problem I have is that the bathroom radiator needs bleeding at least once a week. The gas will burn if I hold a match to it so I suspect from what I've read that it is hydrogen. I've done the steel nail test and my nail has been in a bottle of yellowish liquid from the system for over a week and is still shiny as new. My question is where is all the gas coming from and how do I stop it?
Many thanks
