Online plumbing dealers - who to go for, who to avoid?

I just want to buy a column radiator and have it here on site before I start cutting up the screed to find and re-locate the pipes. My calcs suggest about 1100W, and there's plenty of different ones to choose from.

As a DIYer, I find some of the bigger dealers offer the worst prices and the cold shoulder to anyone without a VAT number and/or business account.

had some bits and pieces from plumnation before, I believe they get from plumbcentre in my area anyway, but the prices were much better than my pc account terms (I'm non vat and only have good terms on certain boilers I fit, pretty crap terms on others tbh)

Got a black Tallis double vertical rad last year for much better price than pc quoted and it ended up coming from them anyway.

Dare I say, sometimes my local b and q also has the odd, designer rad on offer, whether been returned or last of stock not sure

Check the other recent thread about the power output of column rads before you chose the size.

I understand that wide ones are better than tall ones, for otherwise exactly the same area. Is there more to it?

Thanks for the other recommendations folks, I was aware to steer clear of Victoria Plumb (if only for their non-standard gear)

Just asked the missus and she seems to think both wide and tall in equal amounts work better!

I'm now going through my emails to order some pills!

Any advice on sexual matters needed? Ring or message Jeff the gasman.
Unless of course your customer is wearing a Sari and you have a nice Rioja and not a Rampant Rabbit in your back pack , I cant keep enough batteries in my backpack for bloody Salus thermostats , havent a clue how you get on the tube with all those batteries guys

I have a customer that has carpets but wants Laminate flooring and I am fitting a new radiator for her so need the oscilloscope to see what thickness of flooring she needs , I will send it straight back to you as I have never needed one before

You do know Jeff that you are going home one day and you will see an empty bottle of Rioja on the kitchen worktop and a back pack looking like a bomb on the kitchen floor , can you get me the oscilloscope please, I really need one xx

Would the used Bus ticket also be a bit of a clue?? Or a Receipts Book full of copies of £84 diagnostic fees?
