Back again.
After lots of measuring, I find I can fit an alternative F / E tank......

In a much better place.

Before I start cutting / swearing etc.
Do you think this may go some way to improve things.

Back Again.

I bought the new F / E tank I showed.

I've fitted it carefully above the Cylinder as shown in the 3rd diagram.
STILL, the air won't rise up the expansion pipe.
(I've checked it isn't blocked)
I can hear lumps of air running round the DHW cylinder loop.
It seems happy to turn 90 degrees left rather than bubble up vertically.

I fully understand the system is not plumber correctly but,
before I start with floorboards up to run dedicated fill / expansion pipes,
does anybody think an automatic air vent in the top of the cylinder loop
might solve the problem?

(See diagram 1 where "flow" is written).

i would have just re piped it as it should be and marveled at how it all works properly

you were told the pipework configuration is wrong, by more than one of us, yet in your own wisdom you fit a new f&e tank albeit in a diferent position. Why am I not surprised it is no better?

Yes, you're all correct.
Pretty much everything I do, I try to do Properly
so I only do it once.
On this occasion, I thought I could just improve a bad installation.

I admit I was trying to save time & money.
I'll just have to bite the bullet.
Carpets & floors up, new pipes from loft to kitchen.

Boiler......
Vent......
Feed (from underside & within 100mm)......
Pump......
DHW Actuator......
CH Actuator......

Again......
