Opinions on kitchen downlight positions

If 7 lights is not quite enough in a 4x3m room then that would be the point where I'm questioning if they're the right lights!

The type with the wider angle beam may be better, but there have been many threads on here about the inefficiency of downlights

My own kitchen has a unit like this so I can aim the lights where I want, it is not what I want, in the house when I bought it, and I have no access to ceiling space, so I am considering lighting track

so I can extend from existing lamps on the surface without it looking like an after thought, which of course it is.

The modern and quite sensible alternative, is long flexibles out of the ceiling rose, then a hook to hang each light on, in a different position to the rose.
