Both quoted roughly the same price, first kept pushing the date back, after 2 months we said we'll try someone else. 2nd guy sent someone from his company who turned up half a day late and was told he had to complete it in a day because 'his boss is a dick' then decided he can't do it in the half day so left. So yeah, been trying to get a spark in since February.

A lot depends on what the job entails, OP has mentioned fitting trunking under decking. Work under decking can create difficulties that it's simply easier to walk away from than get involved with.
Cable into a shed can also create difficulties depending on what customer is asking for as is crossing a 20ft patio etc etc.

Without the survey WE simply don't know.
