As terry L may be tucking into his dinner I will jump in. If its really really hard don't try to force it you may snap the plastic. Do as terry said earlier ,unscrew the handle and remove it, Exposing the spindle you can then use a spanner / grips to open
Terry(s), thank you both. Whilst that was very simple for you, you won't believe all the things I've tried whilst on the phone to the guy that did the service. He wanted to/me to replace the diverter. He's clearly just left it like that after servicing it. Thank you again, i have heat!
Glad your sorted ,but mostly thanks to terry L . I must admit it did not occur to me that after a recent service the valve would be closed. Well in terry L !!!
