I've been trying to heel and toe a UPVC door with double glazing. I'm finding that the packers keep pushing to the back and it's hard to grab hold of them again. When they go to the back they don't cover the whole double glazed unit, which I believe will cause it to fail eventually. Is there something I'm missing? I also find that the packers at the side are hard to get in as the other packer falls when I add a second one. I tried adding some sealant but it's not enough to hold it in place.

I'm also finding that the packer at the top is hard to get in, but goes loose when pushed in square with the glazing.

My glazing is 24mm IIRC. The frames are designed for this size, but can take triple glazing (36mm IIRC) with different beads.

I packed mine all the way around. Doors been in 18 years and not moved. I can't see the logic in the heal toe but hey ho. Glass is packed holding door completely square and will always be that way plus weight is on hinges. I'm no expert so don't listen to me..

As for your problem. If the packers are correct width jam in they can't move. Heal toe them dead tight.
