we have just had the plasterers in my house , we were flooded out so they have had to do the full downstairs , the finished job is not good , but with xmas approaching i would rather just try and sort it out the best i can. the problem lies with loads of bobbles on the finish and uneven bits , well big bumps in places, what would anyone advise to try and smooth it out for a paint finish without replastering?

I assume this was an insurance job ?
if so, ring your insurance company, and ask them to send an assessor to look at the lovely job their approved repairer as made.
Do NOT settle for the standard of work they have done ( assuming it is as bad as what you are saying? a piccie would help)
