i always use paint rollers when painting i know that they can splash abit when rolling celings,walls...but if u load it up and roll it out wel in your paint tray before starting to roll your wall,celing... this helps prevent splashing paint around the place, another little tip when rolling start at one side and work your way to the other at your own speed, no need to be putting a lot of pressure on the roller eigther just move it at a steady speed (up and down the wall top to bottom).you may want to get yourself a pole saves u going up the ladder all the time and saves u a bit of time.
