You very kindly gave me some advice a few weeks ago about painting the hallway in our farmhouse. Well I've got the undercoat done for all the walls, the woodwork is primed and the paint chosen (Johnson's heritage range in flat matt).
My next bit to tackle is the huge arched window on the stairs - metal frame with lots of small glass panels with intricate arches etc.
The window is sound but untidy. The plan is that the joiner is making a secondary glazed casement to fit over the front so I need to tidy up the window first.
My plan of action is to:
Clean off the dirt/mould from condensation
Pick out loose putty (with what?) and flakey paint
Reapply putty where needed - do I tape around the panes before or after this?
Undercoat
Paint
Does this sound reasonable? What have I missed?
Thank you!
