Painting a window frame

Thanks for your advice, confidentincompetent . lol damn, I didn't think about priming the rebate . Now, that you've told me, I can remember to do this in the future. Ah well, it's only an old window. I won't get that much more wear out of it so I'll probably replace it with PVC or whatever it's called .

Oh don't replace with PVC. Whatever you do with painting the wooden window it will be better than plastic. All the good advice you've been given is just searching for perfection. Second best is still far better the PVC.
