Painting over flaking wallpaper primer

Go for another coat of Emulsion, this will show up imperfections on the wall which need a second fill.
when dry, size and then hang the lining paper if you have decided on the lining paper option.

thought i should get round to updating this thread... well, i got the job done in the end, went with:
- washing off wallpaper paste,
- light sanding by hand
- 2 coats of thinned trade emulsion
- lining paper hung horizontally
- 2 coats emulsion

looks pretty okay, the joints in the lining paper are visible in a couple of places before i got the knack of hanging it, which is annoying, but overall a massive improvement over what i had.

thanks for all the advice!
