Toffee's left the forum
why?..i was just going to ask that as uncomfortable as it feels to disclose information,,,only to think,,,and then regret....if it was just the dob...it's nothing to worry about....there are lots of people with the same dob

The comments were way,way,way O,T,T

maybe im old...but it's called, walking away ;)

I would hope that in real life, when confronted with someone who is only content in yelling obscenities and being a bully and agressive behavior in general...best thing to do...is walk away....right?

There's questions on both sides here...

1. Why does Scottish Power need to know the guy's birthdate? What does that have to do with the electric meter reading or his bill payments?

2. If the guy was from Scottish Power, they would have gotten all the information they NEEDED when Toffee and her husband first became customers. His birthdate hasn't changed since then.

Toffee:
I think you should contact your credit card company and ask to talk to a manager in their fraud division. They have first hand experience with people stealing other people's identity and would be better able to advise you on how valuable a piece of information a date of birth is to someone wanting to do that. He/she might be able to advise you on what other pieces of ID that can be obtained if whomever phone you knows your husband's name, address and birthdate (like a driver's licence or Social Security card). You can then contact those places to see if anyone's applied to replace a lost driver's licence or Social Security card.
