Parkside tools are they any good?

I bought a Aldi cordless screwdriver and I must say it was pants. Zero umph to screw anything in. The fact I was using it to take some slack out of the screws of a rubber lined pipe clamps made it alittle more insulting as they had a metal male/female thread.

The Lidl parkside router I bought a few months ago has been a real trooper. It's only a 1/4 collet so has its limitations bits still still going strong after cutting hardwood for a good days straight.

My 10 year old Aldi powercraft grinder is just about to give up which isn't a bad testimony. I do agree, if I was using a tool all day or at least more regular, I'd buy better quality brand and I'd have no problem with paying the extra for it.

Honestly I couldn't remember but it was 5-6 years ago and I'm sure it were around the £20 quid mark which if it would have worked, would have been a steal.

Probably abit of my own nativity thinking at 10.8v cordless screwdriver were going to have some torque to it. My dad has an old black and decker cordless screwdriver that looks like one of the multi bit drivers that has the storage in the handle and the torque is immense! Went we bought it for his christmas present, it sure wasn't 20 quid though...

Mention is made that Parkside/Lidl are available online - but the only such site that I can find is in German. Is there an English version that enables purchases? Thank you.

My Lidl cordless screwdriver is still going strong 3 months later being used for commercial use (non DIY so the warranty is void, but I wont tell them). Far longer than the Makita grinders I have to repair the cable on weekly.
TBH these days ALL the manufacturers are making their products as cheap as they can. So if it does the job you want for it then its often worth it to buy cheap and have it fail at some point in the future after its done that job, compared to spending many times more for something that although it will last a lot longer (allegedly) you have to find new uses for it.

I bought a cordless drill for my bathroom renovation. It's been a godsend.Handled pretty much everything I've thrown at it.Got plenty of torque however the battery needs recharging often.Luckily I have 3 batteries,2 chargers,1 at work,1 at home..... I also have a cordless angle grinder.
Will they last 3 years of constant use ? I doubt it but they're aimed at the diyer aren't they.
Made by Einhell as I understand it and badged for Lidl

You can buy the batteries and other consumables at kompernass website but you can't buy the products there. The batteries for the newer 20v versions are cheaper to buy in-store (obviously) but as with everything its first come first served. I tend to get there just as they are opening before work if I really want something.

Thanks for that Markyb555, but I was looking at the Lidl de parkside site identified by Mistral 55 in the posting of 3.5.17.

There are quite a few new Parkside tools available on ebay, some sellers having multiple items. Unless these sellers are buying in mass when the tools are in the Lidl stores, there must be another source?

Can anyone else throw a light on this?

Typically the mark-ups seem to be about 50% over the Lidl prices. Taking account of ebay and paypal commission - and the 'messing about', I'm not sure I would think it worth it, but some might! There certainly seem to be sellers on ebay that 'specialise' in finding new goods to resell. Perhaps like market traders.

It all depends on what you think you can best spend your time on. I can spend mine on better things!

I would class Parkside as light diy only, probably have plastic gears and cheap Chinese bearings, I'm a firm believer of he who buys cheap buys twice however if lidl or Parkside are silly enough to give a 3 year guarantee you'll probably only ever have to buy the tool once, that's fine but what happens when they try wriggling out of replacement or refund say if the tool is a year old, what happens when your tool breaks in between store offers and they don't have any stock to replace yours with, do they order you a new tool or refund you, sorry but it's all too much stacked in their favour, I'm a tool snob I'll admit specifically deWalt, some will mock and say it's just yellow black and decker but I know when I go to the tool shop with my deWalt it'll be repaired no questions asked whether within 1 year or their 3 year guarantee, I've put it to the test and never been disappointed, lidl would be pot luck

Parkside are a German company, not Chinese..... And very well built and durable. I have many Air tools, Power tools made by Parkside in use in my workshop and they take a good hammering to the point of being almost indistructable.

Though there are some tool brands that Lidl sell, that seem to break as you take them out of their packaging.

I bought a £20 Parkside cordless drill for use at work, expecting it to last 6 months at most. 5 years later it's still going strong even after being dropped on the concrete floor a fair few times!.

Bought their 20v Muti-tool a few months back and that has put up with a fair amount of abuse as well.

Some stuff is not the best but some of it is very well made.

I've spent and eye watering amount on Snap-on tools so appreciate the quality argument but the Parkside tools aren't poor quality by any means.

Why are parkside cordless tools sold without batteries or charger in lidl or aldi can anyone answer or anyone from parkside why is this? is this some new thing?
