Parler - just got owned

Ridiculous, far more likely that Parler will get massive compensation for a 'data breach' don't you think?

Has the Pope been released yet?

It's not PII but metadata and the US has weaker privacy laws than the EU. Ontop the data wasn't hacked per se - the person simply used an exposed public endpoint to download the data. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

****ty RW coders. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's already started. Trumpers being put on no fly lists.

Any breaches are Parlers fault, you don't get to sue a car park for not securing your car if you forgot to lock it and someone steals the stereo.

Parlers' customers will receive compensation for the hosts lack of security. It will help fund the attorney fees when the evidence is turned over to the FBI.

But if course the RWRs will remain convinced it's all somebody else's fault.

There isn’t a default right to privacy in US law that would apply to a platform such as this. While there is possibly some politics behind AWSs move given the transition of power, it’s unlikely they could have avoided it if the right disclosure processes were followed.

However EU GDPR, doesn’t prevent the state from doing the same. So in this context it’s not weaker US privacy law that is the issue.
