Really?

If parliament is able to be arbitrarily suspended, then what type of democracy do you think we actually live in?

"leading Tory Eurosceptic Jacob Rees-Mogg, a supporter of Mr Johnson, said that suspending parliament so that MPs cannot stop the next prime minister forcing through a no-deal Brexit "may have to happen".

Are quitters happy for the UK to set sail on it's 'magical mystery tour' with no active ruling body?

I thought it was the people who are sovereign
Nope, we're merely 'subjects'...

A subject is someone "under the dominion of a monarch".
The subject has no say in how they are treated.

The UK has no written constitution, and thus our 'rights' are simply an unwritten "social contract"!

none of which relates to reality, does it?

Can you give a meaningful example of how a subject has no say in how they are treated?

I believe the US has a written constitution, does it make it better?

Indeed I can...

An example of how the state takes 'ownership' of you right from the start...

Linky

The phrase "In these circumstances the local authority is the institutional parent" says it all!

Actually, we are citizens . A subject is another thing altogether

If you could show us a link to a written document that pertains to us being citizens rather than subjects, then please feel free to do so...

(You won't be able to of course, because no such document exists - and just because it says 'citizen' in a passport it's meaningless!)

Sadly most people in the UK have no actual idea about their 'relationship' to the country that we live in!

Some British subjects are British Citizens. Some British Subjects are not. Some people reading this forum may be neither. Even if they were born in the UK.

AFAIK there was no law making anyone a citizen until 1948/9

You may wish to refer to the British Nationality Act 1948
