Part P Building Regs!

Hi, I know that according to part P Building Regs you have to have outside electric work inspected, does this count if it is not connected directly to the consumer unit but is plugged into a 13A socket inside? Thanks

If it is a fixed installation yes, it will be nofitiable under part p. Not quite as straight forwards as just getting it inspected.

"Permanent" is an irrelevance.

Is whatever you are installing fixed?

What sort of cable? i.e. size and type?

How long?

What is the load of the pump and filter?

Where will it run?

How will it be protected against physical damage?

Will it be fixed to anything?

Will the socket be fixed to anything?

Shame the reason has nothing to do with safety then isnt it really.

The concept of Part P is about safety, however it has just been implemented by the government / LABCs in a poor way imo.
