Paving slabs

I've had a builder to lay 30 600x600 paving slabs.

after he layed them they started moving, I dug out 100mm, and he said it was too much.

he put m.o.t underneath, not much and said he'd build the rest up with cement...they started moving after a while, he said he used to much cement, but the cement was more like sand then cement, the mix had way to much sand.

he lifted the slabs that were moving up and put some adhesive glue on the slabs which has stuck them down.

when he done the pointing i'm pretty sure he's used the wrong sand as the joints stay real dark for days after it's been raining, as my old slabs dry out within a couple hours, does this look like the wrong sand thats been used?

In fairness, it was solvent adhesive and not the waterbased no-nonsense stuff from the sheds.

Does it look like the wrong sand used in the pointing?

No idea, I was thinking about knocking the pointing out and doing it again myself with this

is there any tools to use to get a smooth flat finish between each joint?

To be honest, the edges of the slabs will naturally get darker when they get wet, as will the grout. It will probably fade in time.

Do you know if the patio grout from wickes will be as strong as mixing it yourself? would you still be ablle to pressure wash the slabs down?
