Perspex strips to stop books falling off thin shelf?

FFS, it’s a door!!! A secret door covering a hole in the wall that goes into a cinema room I made!!!:LOL:

I’ll put a full sheet of Perspex on so I can fill it with water and get some fish in it. Sorted.

Ian,
It's brilliant. :>

Prefer it with the books just being the spines and not front facing - I would continue with that and glue them in place.

BUT all the books should be books with Film titles.... Jaws for example.
SFK

That is a good idea!!!

I think I’ll go fake books on the top 2 shelves then you can’t see that they are cut, then I’ll have to think about the lower ones. I got some small photo frames and mini cactus in pots that I thought I’d glue on that would cover a couple more shelves.

If you wanted the books flat, open the cover of the book, screw through the book into the panel behind to secure it, close the cover and use a blob of glue to hold the book shut.

For fake bookshelf you would remove book spines and glue around same size wood blocks leaving no gaps between .
Would require a decent artist to make the books look complete .(stage props artist)

Or just get some books and cut them down.

So, I was right then :)
I recognised this because my uncle has the same thing at his house.
