Have a Terraced house and having a a RSJ Put in BC mentioned that Piers would need be tied in under steel beam

The parts of house beam is sitting on is the original back end of house

Can ask what this would involve so know what look for

Guessing would mean brickwork be Toothed in

Why build separate piers, which he seems to be suggesting?
Surely you just need to tidy up the existing brickwork where its cut back, and then place the padstones. At 300 long (which personally I think is excessive, unless the masonry is of low compressive strength) there should be no need to build separate piers as the load from the beam will be adequately dispersed into the existing masonry.

Go back to your structural engineer with the query from building control - if they have designed the padstones supporting the beams then they should also be specifying the detail they have assumed/require for the supporting masonry.

For a 3m long beam supporting some floor, roof and external wall, building new piers is probably overkill - your SE should be able to justify the existing wall to support the beam if they're worth their fee!
