Has anybody successfully fitted a PIV unit in a loft space and ran it on a reduced duct size? I am limited to the size of the ducting I can run to the ideal outlet point on the landing. 100 mm ducting would fit ok but I have noted the duct size the units comes with is 200mm. I guess the volume of air may be reduced somewhat but on theory would this still work? Has anybody fitted a reducer and managed to work it this way, or is this a terrible idea?

It would be better to move the outlet to a less than ideal location on the landing than try to force the airflow through a duct which is far too small. You can direct the airflow using dams in the outlet if you end up with the outlet too close to a wall.
