Planning for outbuilding granted

Maybe it is OK according to the law, and it certainly seems silly they're asking for another application, but in other situations that would be another case for the planning jungle idiotic loopholes. In another situation you could apply for an extension with matching roof and just slap a flat roof on top and just say you're saving up for the tiles!

The Planning application may have been approved but is the planning permission going to be valid if the building extension is not in accordance with the approved drawings and the conditions can't be discharged ?

The permission is the permission. Once commenced, it's valid until hell freezes over - so roughly another 5-1/2 weeks

What about discharge of planning consent conditions , isn't the condition on every application for approval of the erection of a building that it must be built in accordance with the approved drawings Otherwise you could obtain permission and then build anything
