Plasson Stop Tap Red button function

Trying to turn off a Plasson 20mm stop but even when fully clockwise water is still getting through.

Is the red button function anything to do with how far it turns?

I don’t think it serves a purpose other than possibly Braille?

I suspect if you press in the red button you may be able to release / remove the handle. An anti tamper feature... and allows an alternative handle style to fit (perhaps).

Makers website not very helpful but YMMV if you look yourself you may find something?

I'll assume you've tried opening and reclosing repeatedly. Do you know where your water meter or external stop valve is so you can isolate the water before that stop valve?

Thanks. Had seen their website and , like you, thought it unhelpful. May try calling them tomorrow.

It is actually at an elderly friend's house. In the garage but I'm pretty sure I can find the external stop valve.

I have tried pressing the red button but it seems rigid so may well be has no function.

Have also tried opening and closing a few times but may give that another go.

Don’t know tbh, I know partially sighted people have used a dark blue and an orange colour before.

That's a good point. It does stand out, even in the dark.
