i think you need to examine the circumstances of this particular installation.


Reading the posts seems to say that there is no insulation and solid walls so I do think that in this case the temperature would/will rise.

It doesn't really matter why partial insulation is likely to cause condensation. The immediate cause is that the dew point is above the surface temperature of the cold walls.

I think this implies an increase in absolute humidity OR that the cold walls are colder. OK, so if the bulk air temperature goes up, the relative humidity might actually go down but the absolute humidity can easily go up. However, where we seem to disagree, with fewer cold surfaces and fewer cold draughts, the same comfort level can be achieved with a lower air temperature. (Since replacing Crittall windows with double glazing, we have turned the thermostat down 2°C.) With a lower air temperature, the cold walls are going to be colder and more likely to suffer condensation.
