Hi
I have a plaster fire surround in need of cosmetic repairs. There is an open gas fire basket style in the opening, which we have not used since we moved in. I know that the hearth is too low to meet regulations. I believe it is granite, or some kind of polished stone. Is it worth trying to get the surround repaired and will it meets regulations, if I do and what fire can then be used in the opening. It is a beautiful surround and I really dont want to get rid of it. Any ideas please?!
Thanks in advance
