Plastic is fine when fitted correctly. Major problem if you don't trust the plumber though.

Accessible manifold can mean have it buried but form a floor or wall trap and continue that floor trap into any fixed floor/wall covering (like laminate or tiles or engineered timber).

I'd want copper. But if plastic, I'd only want it if no inaccessible joints. So long as the run from each radiator to radiator is a single pipe, then OK but if they start hiding plastic connections in random places in walls and under the floor, it will only lead to tears!
I had one plastic run in my extension in previous house, was very neat, pipes came out behind the radiator and were almost invisible.

I'd be a bit concerned that this plumber is doing the bathroom & kitchen fitting out. Is he a bathroom/kitchen fitter who has watched other plumbers and thought 'that looks easy'?

When I say fitting out , he’s basically going to run the plumbing services to kitchen, downstairs toilet and plumbing to upstairs bathroom , he’s not actually fitting the kitchen.
jonbey if you have a flow and return it will be impossible to not have connections Won’t it ? unless using a manifold , Unless the systems in series so to speak not sure of the correct term for a system like this ?
Some serious decisions to make regarding this job . The mrs is also wanting the boiler in the garage but it’s gona Have to come down in the future to re build so this is another issue i could do without , Ive told her it’s impossible , the pipes will be running across the top of the garage so would have to be all cut when the garage comes down...I’m currently working on the her though to have the boiler fitted in the house somewhere hahah . Ffs

I use the Bute line system. I would never bury push fit but have no problem burying Buteline fittings. Being sure to protect fittings with Denzo.
My Potterton lived happily in my loft for 25+ years. The replacement Vaillant has been up there for nearly 3 years. Perfect place for them.

I fitted a walkin shower for a customer. I went back next day and it had gone!

Lofts a great place. Not necessarily for a combi boiler. In an ideal world they are fitted as close to the bathroom and kitchen as can be be.
Problem with combi is they waste to much water.
