Running approx. 12 metres of hot and cold 15mm PE-X plastic pipe from a CT75 pump to a shower, is it necessary to fit plastic pipe inserts when using plastic connectors as it isn't mentioned in any of the pump instructions. I'm also a little concerned about reducing the bore and the effect that this will have on flow rates

do it in 15mm copper then, swept bens where possible to reduce drag... you can't have it both ways!

or leave the inserts out but make sure you have a mop on standby

It won't be in the pump instructions, the need will be defined by the pipe manufacturer. Have you not looked at the installation guide for the product you're using?

Follow the instructions of the pump and shower manufacturers on what pipe to use and the instructions of the pipe manufacturer on what fittings and inserts to use.
Follow all instructions on how to use the materials, and how to test before use.
Works for me.
