Thanks for reading, my daughter has replaced the fuse for her laptop adapter in the last few days, from a blown, 3 amp ? to a five amp, could be the other way about.
She said i gave her a 13 amp yesterday,3rd time now that's gone?
The battery is goosed.

What is wrong, no damage on the cables, she says.

take it to a local computer repair shop and ask them to give it a quick test (most small pc shops will do this for free). Please don't use a higher fuse rating than the charger states, that can be dangerous.

They don't state a fuse size and they should not be relying on the fuse in the plug for protection. It exists solely for the protection of the cable (and, unfortunately, the regs have a giant loophole which means almost every cable is 'protected' by a 13A fuse).

If it's managing to blow a 13 amp fuse then I'd reckon there's a dead short across live and neutral somewhere. As Monkeh says, the fuse is there to protect the cable. ;) ;)
