The question is, is the bible just a story book that's got a little out of hand.

How will they look at the Dan Dare in a 1000 years time. :rolleyes: and as for Mary Poppins flying around with an umbrella Wow, even God couldn't do that. :mrgreen:

The old testament is the history of the Jews written by Jews for Jews, the new testament is Judaism for Gentiles.

it could have been a case of paternity fraud with mary convincing Joseph that it was God who made her pregnant and not the milkman.

If assess Jesus by the same criteria as other figures from the past, it us quite reasonable to say that he did exist, but unreasonable to claim any supernatural origin or abilities for him.

I am often surprised at the poor understanding of the bibke by thise who are religious. In The original texts do not contain any refererence to 'Virgin birth' and are quite specifically mention Jesus's siblings.

Practically every point about the birth of Jesus was used beforehand, by every culture explaining the origins of their heroes, champions and demi gods, but there are those that want us to believe that it is only the Jesus version that is "true" all the others are "obviously" myths.

Like it or not he was an Historical figure ~ which is different from accepting the accounts regarding claims of an unwordly nature.
Pontious Pilot also existed.

So this obviously begs the question what else is true in the Book ?
 
I don't think theologists agreeing he existed is as strong an argument as the fact that historians (in the main) do.

Of course there is a lot of historical detail all the way through the Bible but I can't see much independent corroboration of anything supernatural, and a lot of its internal narrivitve is contradictory.
 
just ask god, just go somewere on your own and ask god sincerely,and say if you are there please reveal yourself to me. be genuine and sincere. god loves us all
hes not out to harm you or condemn, , he wants all to know him. hes great. a fantastic god,
who loves us more than you could imagine. jesus is truely risen, and becuase of jesus dieing in our place for our sins, you can have a relationship whith god .through forgivness,of sins. its good news

maybe you laugh , but god is not mocked,what you sow you reap.

god is ready and willing to forgive,and give you the peace and love you cant get in this world,and eternal life


hes a great and wonderful god, and he has no pleasure in destroying the wicked. but hes a god of love and also a god of justice.

god wants all men to be saved,because there is a judgment coming,
its appointed for man to die once then the judgment.




if you die whithout christ, you die in your sins,you will be lost forever.
cut of from god completly, in outer darkness.

one day you will see him,saved or not. it says every eye will see him,even those that pearsed him.

it says that every knee shall bow,and every tongue will confess that jesus is lord.
