Felt sorry for it. Thought if it was so hungry that it had to break in to someone's house and snarf some soggy discarded poppadum, it was welcome to it.
Feel a bit bad.* If I'd known it was going to croak, I'd have taken its meal away and turfed it out.
* Before you all laugh, I'm the sort of guy who doesn't like killing things, even pests.
The only one I will kill is a wasp if it comes near Mrs Secure, as she has a very bad reaction to the sting. But I hate doing it.
I agree with what you say about killing things, the only exception i think is when some pervert harms children or animals, i think i could quite easily torture and kill him slowly and painfully.
