Possibly faulty mid position valve - have I done a temp fix?

Wow! This takes me back!

My solution was to move house...

(no, seriously, I have moved since all this!).

In the end, I got the professionals in. Called a plumber in who replaced the whole valve. Sorted it. Wasn't something I felt I could take on myself.
