I wonder if someone can help me? My 1970 property was fitted with cavity insulation which it shouldn’t have. I was getting large damp areas so had it removed last year. Recently I’ve noticed I’m getting random damp patches in my property. Above 1st floor skirting boards, random “blobs” below windows and now in the corner of an upstairs bedroom. I’ve enquired with a builder who checked my roof and is happy. He cannot see any obvious issues. As the property is due to be painted he has suggested I have the property painted with a sealant? Does this sound like an idea? I’m sorry if this seems a silly question but as a single houseowner I don’t have any sensible people I can ask for an honest opinion. Thankyou

Post some photos please. Inside and out of the problem areas. All the way up to the roof and gutters, and include downpipes, bay roofs, alterations.

Painting sealant on defective brickwork will not repair the defects
