Post lockdown holidays

Thought about booking somewhere in the lakes in autumn, but the lake district is very expensive and if the weather's poor, as it often is, then there's not a huge amount to do.

Even less so, with the 'rona restrictions:(

Hmm, maybe a day trip or 2 then, were only 65 miles away from the south lakes.

Terrible shame. We've only been to the lakes once, and it was lovel . Strange, but lovely.
Our first born was still in a pushchair, so I don't recall anything too adventurous.

Evenings were very pleasant, just wandering and eating around the tourist villages and towns. Away from the "attractions" though, it was utterly deserted, even though the weather (early September) was very pleasant.
Away from the actual lakes, I found it rather depressing......

At the weekender gaff in Seahouses for a couple of nights - the place is absolutely rammed and I'll bet there isn't a bed or caravan/cottage to be had in the place.
Come this time next year, I'll be considering a jaunt to France - if the ferries are well sorted.
John :)

Last I heard, no foot passengers allowed, vehicles and m/bikes only, in order to reduce the number of passengers, and reduce the amount of time mixing with others.
Obviously, this time next year it might change.

I carried on regardless.
Old schooler cannot be stopped by a virus and a few lies.

My holiday plans have not changed one iota because of covid.

Because I have not got any, not been on holiday for years, must be 15 years since I went to spain and that was the first time in 20 years.
If I do get to go somewhere it will be in the UK with my dogs... (oh and the wife & adult kids).

 my parents lived in Keswick for about 5 years, my dad's dream retirement location. They couldn't cope with the incessant weather eventually.
