On my walk today I saw some kind of bird of prey just waiting and watching.

Is that a Buzzard.?

We get lots of Red kites flying above our house and meadow down the bottom.

Same here, we usually have dozens of sparrows flitting about all day long, then all of a sudden, you won't see any for hours, and often a sparrow hawk will sit on the fence or the back of a garden chair.

@Mottie your bird, (the one in the tree I mean), looks like a sparrow hawk. It's about the right size for a healthy one.

@jonbey Why is that extension reel still coiled up? I know your lights are not taking much power but I absolutely hate extension reels not being unwound completely. For indoors you can get nice ones in various lengths and outlets rather than having that sitting in the lounge. LOL

Mrs Bod took this afternoon above my house.

I think its s Red Kite as that what we get alot of. She said there was 4 flying together..

Distinctive tail, looks like a Red Kite to me too
