Saw this perfectly good healthy-looking tree that had been cut down today on my dog walk.

I've got to say I agree with the message that was written on the stump.

Looks like a pro took it down, so there must be an official reason. Is it a beech?

Yeah, a Beech tree. A pro? It fell onto another tree totally destroying it - you can see the splintered branches in the picture.

Leaves were mostly green on that one, the brown leaves are on branches that had been cut from other trees a month or so before.

Sh!t happens. It's a real smooth cut atop the stump. The bark on that tree is so smooth it looks like skin. I hope someone makes good use of the timber.

Yes two jobs there today. Like council estates on stilts. Really nice actually but run down because of bad build quality
