Nope. I won’t keep you guessing. It’s a Great spotted woodpecker. It lands in the tree in the garden that backs on to mine every night around 6.00 and has a little peck. Too far away for my iPhone to pick up so I held my phone up against my monocular. Looks like the moon in the background though!
We were on a cruise a few years ago and befriended two older ladies from Burnley, one night in the lounge I pointed out the full moon to them, they had had a few sherries by then, every one who entered the lounge were greeted by "Come and see the moooon" in a slightly slurred lancs accent, its our catchphrase now whenever theres a good moon
