Potterton Puma 80 shutting off after running hot water?

The pump is meant to run during hot water useage. Does it?

I have assumed that you do have central heating and are using it ?

Running the hot water too hot means nothing withoug other information.

Can you set the hot water to run at 6 litres per minute? If so can you measure the temperature?

Central heating works o.k however it does get really quite hot too.

How do you descale the system, is it something I could try to do myself (i'm a car mechanic but can tackle most things )

The hot water pressure seems good, when the tap is fully open it gushes out well.

If the heat exchanger was scaled up would the water pressure be reduced?

Pressure and flow are different things.

It could well be the DHW sensor. Measure the resistance when completely cold should be around 10k.

It could also be the gas valve settings for which you should call an RGI.

Measured the resistance cold and it read 8.6k, I read elsewhere that is within spec?

I would get a RGI to check the gas valve, is the modureg getting stuck on high gas?

Rather than expecting a gas valve fault it would be better for an RGI to just check the two basic gas valve settings.

Its surprising how few actually check them during a service.
