Potterton Puma (Mind of its own)

Thank you Gasguru,

The photo's have helped a lot :D

Last Friday evening, about 11.30, the boiler was doing exactly what you have described - red light on constantly but no hot water taps running.

Think it could be a dodgy flow switch.

Will try that test, I'll let you know how it goes :)

It's usually the hydraulic part of the flow switch. Poke a small screwdriver through the hole in the hex part and you'll probably be able to push the spring etc to the left and turn the boiler off.

I think I told you that last Saturday!

Tony,

I was hoping to narrow it down to one thing - I dont have the cash to just replace this that and the other in the hope it might be that particular part.

If I shelled out on the flow switch and it turned out to be something else..........I would've been a bit cheesed off to say the very least!!!!!!

It's considered bad manners to highjack a thread. Start your own, and give all the info needed.
