on average we get one a month, and they usually last for about an hour, although somtimes they can last up to 3 hours or so.

Just got to find the money for a massive 3 phase, 250KVa diesel back up generator...............

Never has a power cut until 3 month ago when a lorry reversing and flatten the green junction box at the top of our road ! Approximately 2/3 hours to repairs.

you should get one. when there is a power cut charge people to plug an extension into it

I'm in Grantham, Lincs - we don't get them nearly as often as we used to. 2 in the last year, one was only a matter of minutes, the other was apparently caused by an arson attack at the substation and took the whole area out for 10 hours. I was in the pub at the time, we all had to go onto hand-pull and alcopops!

Long time to stay in the pub, especially in the dark.

We used to get short powercuts in the early hours of the morning. Only know because it upset the clock on my old video. Long enought to trigger the reset clock warning, but not long enough to actually lose the time (about 1 minute from unplugging). Hard to say how often get one in the day. Yearly or less. Average must be at least one hour per year.

I recall it being a very enjoyable evening - all the regulars sitting around by candlelight, drinking what we could get poured and having a piano sing-song in the absence of the jukebox - proper old-time stuff!

We had a power cut in 2002, for about twenty minutes. Last one before that was some time in the early eighties...
