I'm thinking about buying one of these:

It looks to me like I could remove the surge and switch modules and replace them with a further two grid sockets like this:

Does anybody know if I'm correct?

Because ultimately I don't want the surge or switch anyway.

Also the one you linked to is substantially more expensive!

some of those you can put a plug into upside down, which opens the shutters.

I was bragging about BS1363 to some foreign engineers, one of them spotted an adaptor strip and defeated the shutters that way.

Probably not much risk unless you have children in the house, but certainly undesirable.
