preparing floor for tiling

I pulled up an entire floor. And curried chunks of plywood upstairs. And changed rotten joists, And screwed the plywood in place. Will tile the floor soon. And I am a DIY-er. And a woman :D

galway1 - if your floorboards are in good condition, put 12 mm external grade ply on top, as the pros advise in many topics of this forum. If they are rotten as mine, get rid of them and put thicker ply. I couldn't find 25 mm, so put 2 layers of 18 mm. Measured the room in advance, decided about the exact cuts I needed and had them cut to size in B&Q. The joints of the 2 layers are staggered in accordance to each other and all the screws go to the joists, not just to the ply underneath. The floor is solid as a rock.

congrats on the job, and always good to hear that people are happy with it!
