Ok, I'll have to get some form of bracket to attach my supports to that.
Would the same principle apply if I attached the support to the actual joists, it would save me trying to source the correct brackets to attach to a binder.
To be honest I can't understand exactly what is what apart from ceiling joists seem to be 100 x 40 spanning 3600mm and overspanned , but you are on the right lines providing hangers to binders to provide additional support to the ceiling joists using the appropriate metal connectors. The thing is traditional cut roof structures strictly speaking need to be designed as a whole taking into account sizes , spans and spacings of rafters , purlins , ceiling joists , hangers and binders , but having said that you should be ok with hangers every other rafter.
