Hi folks, has anyone put a new sensor in their printer? I Bought a new Epsom Sx125 last year, worked fine before Christmas, now chucking out paper without printing. Checked ink etc. Tech support at PC World suggested it was paper sensor. As it is a cheap printer don't want to spend loads of money on repair. Please can anyone help? Be very grateful for any help and advice! Many thanks.

Sadly they no longer require 6.3v AC Peter :p
Just realised! The OP is Carol the Mower Mechanic from Suffolk :D
I still dislike computers with a vengance.
John :)

Hahaha!

Saw your post Peter and thought about wireless and 9inc screen TVs - the answer was often a brick!

Computers are not my favourite, you have to have them for some things, esp. living in the sticks - if you can get broadband in the sticks your lucky.

kind regards. Carol

Hi Carol and John

We will have to work out a swap arrangement here :D

Hi Peter and folks, another interesting topic I have found on this great website!

My Dad used to make me do things myself, which is useful and get a girl turning her hand to alsorts, was told "never be afraid to ask"! That is why I find this website so useful and interesting!

Have just bought a replacement for my V8i Disco - another V8i Disco, it is in great condition and the handbag is like new! Just wax it seems the way to go. Won't fit in the garage as will not go through the door. Would like to preserve this beauty! Suggestions please - most grateful for any ideas folks have. Not taking the p. the handbag makes me chuckle as I am not the sort of person who needs a handbag to match their car! Guess most of you are the same :)

Regards Carol

Sooo sorry have just posted in the wrong place! Best walk the dogs and sort this in the morning, Thank you all for your valuable help. My elderly dog is not well and needs some tlc, think she is on her way to Raiinbow Bridge!

Regards Carol

Has it run out of ink? - the printer, not the dog, handbag or either of your cars.

Hello, no ink ok, drivers up to date, scans ok, head clean but will not do a test print just throws out the paper. Thanks for asking! Carol.

Actually I think its vital, nay crucial to have a matching handbag and I'm frankly appalled at any suggestions otherwise.
However:
Regarding caring for this beauty (V8i that is) it will need regular cleaning underneath and application of under body wax to keep it sweet, and on the top, Autoglym products are about the best.
V8i? Have we shares in Shell, perhaps :p
Enjoy your new motor!
John :D

Hi John,

Thanks for posting! You like the handbag then  Have heard the up market motors are getting into matching handbags! Sound good to me unless your a fella! Usually use Turtle Wax, from the tin not in the wash, have used Autoglym and may have some in the garage. Do you use a soft polishing attachment on your drill to buff up the body work? Have avoided these so far as heard they can damage paintwork. My Suzuki SJ 413 Samura had Waxoyl sprayed underneath, did well, but a bit mucky. Will check out the Autoglym web site. Do you remember red lead, was the answer to rust prevention a year or so ago, used as a primer. Had a 53 Prefect, felt like you were sitting on a kitching chair driving it, steady little motor in British Racing Green with Manx stickers on back.

Unfortunatly no shares in Shell! :( Don't do many miles, like my confort and need a motor that tows!

What you driving John? :)

Well good afternoon Carol!
One of the best products around is the Autoglym bodywork shampoo conditioner for the general wash, and followed if you wish by the super resin polish.....some tar remover is useful too but thats as far as it goes for me.
I do have a 'random orbit' polisher - these are slow spinning mops that may, or may not make the polishing easier. Mops in a drill are to risky due to the slip factor and the fact that heat can build up due to the speed of the drill.
If I have to hunt out rusproofing compounds I use those from Bilt-Hamber - like Autoglym very expensive but worth it in the end.
As for my chariots of the day I have a new Audi A1 (totally useless boot space), a Suzuki Jimny for the snow (that hasn't appeared for two years :p ) a Citroen Berlingo van (when I need to earn some cash), a Nissan Note around somewhere for transporting elderly parents, and fanfare of trumpets a Honda Blackbird motorbike which is reputed to top speeds in excess of 180 mph  that hopefully takes me to Europe if the rain stops......could be a long wait!
Regards John :)
