private parking scams

Five minutes later, in the fruit and veg section, the driver accosted me, quaking with anger, demanding to know why I'd stared at him. I explained that I was acting in the interests of disabled people such as him by seeking to ensure that he had a valid badge. He gave me a mouthful of abuse and stomped off.

Clearly, IMHO, I did the right thing, and I'd do the same again, but it's not as though all able-bodied people are evil and all disabled people are saints.
Yes, you did the right thing. However, be aware in future that shops are a haven for self-entitled gits, and the self-entitled customer is always wrong. And the worst people for self-entitlement are people who are claiming benefits (I have proven this) ;) :LOL:

Well, there are good and bad people on both sides of the fence anobium.

One day, in my local Sainsbury's car park, I was walking past a disabled parking slot as a car pulled in without any badge on display. I stopped and stared, then the driver scowled at me and put a badge on the dashboard, so I nodded an acknowledgment and walked on.

Fair point Softus,I would probably have done the same, but I never tried to label able bodied and disabled people, just Bob Dole.
However on reflection I withdraw my criticsim of Bob as clearly he is disabled, albeit mentally, and probably would have great difficulty in putting one foot in front of another, thereby making it difficult for him to walk and talk at the same time. :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

I have a blue badge but only use it when I take my old man out in the car as the pic of him on the back looks nothing like me ..lol ;)

an traffic/parking wardens are quite strict in Manchester on checking up on when you use the badge ....
theres a Grand fined for misuse .....

I wish I had been there to cheer the wardens on.
Speaking as a father of a disabled son, people like you really get my back up, what with your fake or borrowed badges.
Hopefully you will not have to use one of these spaces legitimately, but if that day comes you will soon change your mind about the lazy and idle pi**ocks who use these spaces under false pretext.
In the meantime pay up and stop whinging and thank god you are able to walk. :evil: :evil: :evil:

Turns out your cheers have been short lived as it happens these toe rags are only athorized to police the car park on football days so they are bang out of order and this fine will be quazed.

heres what I dont like - 10 disabled spots and 12 undisabled spots - with usually about 3-4 of the disabled ones filled, and all the others of course full.

I don't mind empty disabled spaces at Tesco's etc that much.

The thing that really gets my goat is in multi-story/pay+display car parks, where the disabled spaces are FREE and still empty. Paying customers can't find a space because there are rows of empty disabled "PREMIUM" spaces (I call them that because they are the biggest, and closest to the door). What makes it worse is that you can't drive anywhere in town to, and nearly get run over if you walk/cycle, because the blue badge holders are parked on double yellows and close to junctions... (despite there being a ruck of free spaces in the CP)

rant over....
