Professional v DIY tools, what is good enough?

Wow, the Martindale is now £60? I paid £22 for the same one (many years ago).
The original Martindale was withdrawn, seems there was some dangerous fault with them, not a clue what, seem to remember EZ150 in the name, and the new one replaced it, the EZ165, there are cheaper plug in testers with loop, but non seem to be designed for the British ring final system.

So my new tester I use a kettle lead, so still a plug in tester, but will show if within spec for a ring final, and shows RCD trip current and time.
