Unfortunately you are dancing on the head of a pin with this subject ..... there will never be a consensus as there are far too many variables and opinions.
Oh and sabre are actually a rebadged vokera, which are no longer a boiler make ...

Oh I see. Sabre was an exclusive Vokera made for a wholesaler. I believe the wholesaler now has rebadged Ideals.

I think my next boiler would not be a combi.
I'd rather go with an undersized unvented cylinder so I could have a secondary return.
I hate the amount of water wasted waiting for the hot to come through.
