I currently have a Honeywell 3-wire room stat. I think I would like to have one that will run at a low setting during the night, and come back up in the morning.

I prefer things which are simple and cheap

What suggs?

I wanted to do the same thing and first put in a simple and cheap Horstmann DRT2 programmable thermostat. However, its temperature control characteristics were very poor; worse than the mechanical thermostat it replaced. I replaced that with a Honeywell CM907 which is an excellent device and well worth the extra cost.

I had Eco DTR2's which are the same as the Horstmann and found I couldn't live with the greater than 1 C switching differential. I had to change them for Grasslin Famoso 1000's with a sub 0.5 C switching differential.

Id recommend a drayton digistat 3
