Some people may not be as skilled in particular area's as yourself, but I think the key word is patience.
BAS is certainly very knowledgeable (and quite probably 'skilled') in relation to electrical matters, but it is probably appropriate that you know that (just as is the case with myself), he is not an electrician.

I will just say the knowledge I have seen looking round this site is very impressive and people like myself really appreciate the help and advice we receive.

Kind regards

There is plenty of technical electrical knowledge around here, both from electricians and non-electricians. There are, in addition, seemingly also other agendas, unrelated to electrical technicalities.

Some people may not be as skilled in particular area's as yourself, but I think the key word is patience. Be patient with the people who are trying to grasp what very skilled people are trying to advice them on. I have no objection to people jumping in on posts but it would be nice if they offered their expertise in such subjects instead of saying something like "Someone clueless." Pointless really I'm sure you could have made better use of your time.
The problem is that people are not trying to give you the right advice, which is properly explaining how things work, or directing you at material which explains it - they are trying to get you to blindly follow instructions knowing that you don't know why.

And that is so very, very wrong.

Being clueless is neither a character nor intellectual flaw - every single person in the world is probably clueless about more things than they are knowledgeable about. Not only is it not a criticism of you, the observation wasn't even directed at you.

Ask me to explain, for example, how some biological process works, and I'd happily say "sorry, I don't have a clue", and I wouldn't feel in the slightest bit bad about that. Nor should you feel bad about not knowing how your lighting circuit works. But you shouldn't have been encouraged to fiddle with it without learning how it does.
