Punter taking a lend?

Just got paid for a job yesterday (and to be paid by a Northumbrian farmer is a miracle in itself).....£280.
When I got home I realised that the notes had Edward Elgar on them and were therefore out of date and couldn't be used at any shop.
Thankfully the bank changed them for the current note, with Adam Smith printed on.
Just wondering if the punter knew.....! I suspect he did.

The usual response is 'noo divvent be ower heavy with yon pen ye cos it was nowt' which roughly translates from the Norwegian to say ' That seemed to be an easy job old chap. I hope the bill is slight'
So - thats one down, and only 4 more to go. Two probables, one possible and one no chance.
